TiVo sends out a new newsletter which describes thumbs up and thumbs down on the TiVo remote…..

Did you ever imagine your TV could learn what you like to watch and record it for you? Well now, thanks to TiVo® Suggestions, it can.

There are a couple of things you will notice about a TiVo remote control when you pick it up. Firstly, it fits comfortably into your hand (TiVo designed it this way so you will never want to put it down), and secondly there is a Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down button on the remote.

When you are relaxing in front of your TV, and you like the programme, press the Thumbs Up button. You REALLY REALLY like it? Give it two thumbs up! You REALLY REALLY REALLY like it? Three thumbs up it is! For the programmes you don’t enjoy give them the Thumbs Down. Don’t worry if you change your mind about a programme, you can always change it later.

By simply pressing the Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down button, you are providing your TiVo media device with information on the kinds of programmes you like. It will then take this information and record suggestions for you from the programme guide. These programmes will sit in your Now Playing folder ready for you to enjoy.

Now that your entertainment has been taken care of the only decision you have to make is, what’s for dinner?
